Come join the fun....
This ride will be held on the historic Trukey Creek Ranch. There will be a 25 and a 50 miler plus a 15 mile "fun ride". Turkey Creek Ranch was established in 1874 by Charles Sprague. In 1912, Spencer Penrose bought the ranch and built 17 structures, 9 of which are still standing and listed on the historical register. The U.S. Army purchased Turkey Creek Ranch in 1965. Fort Carson incorporated picnic tables, grills, and four covered pavilions used for picnic sites, complete with volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, basketball courts, and softball fields. Several playgrounds for the children to enjoy, and Little Turkey Creek Town is also available. Today, Turkey Creek Ranch is used as a Fort Carson MWR recreational facility for soldiers and their families and is open to the public for trail riding with a day or seasonal pass. The ranch is also the home of the 2003 Cavalry Association, National Champions Mounted Color Guard.
