THE LOCATION OF OUR RIDE HAS CHANGED TO AN AREA LOCATED 22 MILES NORTH OF HELENA, MONTANA, NEAR THE TOWN OF CANYON CREEK.  THE FOLLOWING CONTAINS THE NEW INFORMATION FOR OUR RIDE.

 

Directions  

To get to our ride camp near the town of Canyon Creek, MT: From I-15, take exit #200 onto Lincoln Rd. (CR 279) going west.  Ride camp will be on the left just passed mile marker #12.  If coming from the town of Lincoln, MT, going east on Lincoln Rd. (CR-279) ride camp will on the right almost a mile passed mile marker #13.  

 

Ride camp 

On private ranch. Lots of room for big rigs.  Horse water is available. Bring your own people water. Pack out your trash.  Porta potty’s available. Dogs are welcome - please keep them in control because we will be near a county Hwy.  Weed-free hay is required and will be available for purchase.  You may spread manure. No camp fires.

 

Trails

Great views with beautiful mountain scenery. All private ranch land. Varied terrain with climbs and downhill areas.  Mostly good footing and two-track trail.  One stretch on public access road.  Some rocky areas.   25-mile riders will have about a 2,500-ft climb in elevation and two different loops each returning to ride camp.  50-mile riders will have about a 4,000-ft climb in elevation with three different loops, each returning to ride camp. 50-milers will also have to cross a county highway to access one of the loops, and will encounter 5 or 6 gates and maybe some cattle.  There will be water crossings for all riders, including a wide, about a 2-to 3-foot deep irrigation ditch.  

 

Vet in 

Pre-ride vet in for Saturday riders will start at ride camp about 4 p.m. on Friday.  Pre-ride vet in for Sunday riders will start Saturday afternoon at a time determined by the vet.  

 

Ride meetings

For Saturday riders, meeting is at 7:30 p.m. , Friday, after the dinner, which starts at 6:30 p.m.  For Sunday riders, the meeting is Saturday evening immediately following awards presentations, which starts at 7:00 p.m.

 

Entry fees and start times

25 miles, $80, 8:00 a.m. start each day.  50 miles, $90, 7:00 a.m. start each day.  2-day 100, $150, 7:00 a.m. start each day.  $10 discount for registering before Aug. 1. Fun riders can do an 11-mile trail each day, $35, start anytime between 9 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. each day.  Fees include dinner Saturday evening.  Entry forms available at www.triarabian.org.
